Description
HIPS is a high impact polystyrene – a copolymer, that is mostly used for make the support of the ABS 3D printing models. After the printing the model together with the support should be placed in d-limonene, which dissolves the HIPS and leaves the clean ABS model without any residues. For such an exercise you should have a 3D printer with TWO EXTRUDERS. The d-limonene has a nice smell and should be used multiple times. It should be used it in ventilated spaces.
HIPS has a low cost, lighter than ABS itself, it is water resistant and you can be used as a regular filament.
