Our Flex filaments consist two type thermoplastic filaments –  thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) which is a combination between thermoplastic and  rubber materials. It can be used for printing elastic 3D models, which can bend. They can bend, flex and stretch easily.

Flex has vey high mechanical properties – mainly flexibility with elasticity. It can be used for models in automotive industry, medical industry, electornic industry etc.

The choose which material to use depends on the hardness you would need for your models. TPE is harder wot work with and does not have good layer adhesion. You may need some some help for sticking the first layer (applying some adhesivs to the bed, 50-60°C temperature of the bed). You can have warping. We recommend working on PEI bed. TPU has a very good layer adhesion. DO NOT USE RETRACTION when working with FLEX filaments. Use DIRECT drive extruder.
